J Philip DiNapoli
President
Born and raised in San Jose, California, Phil DiNapoli
continues a long standing heritage of commercial and
civic involvement by the DiNapoli family in Silicon
Valley.
Mr. DiNapoli was the founding chairman of Plaza Bank
of Commerce, a successful regional bank which merged
with Comerica Bank of Detroit, one of the nation’s
top 20 banks. Mr. DiNapoli serves on Comerica’s
Board of Directors. Mr. DiNapoli also serves as a
member of the Board of Directors of the San Jose Water
Company.
Mr. DiNapoli graduated from Stanford University and
obtained a JD from Santa Clara University. He is a
member of the California State Bar and the Santa Clara
County Bar Association.
Mr. DiNapoli has been extensively involved in civic,
political and philanthropic endeavors in Silicon Valley.
Mr. DiNapoli’s personal foundation has funded
many non-profit organizations including the San Joe
Museum of Art, San Jose’s Tech Museum, the Santa
Clara County Children’s Center and the Sacred
Heart Community Center.
John B DiNapoli
Vice President
John DiNapoli manages the operations of JP DiNapoli
Companies Inc. including oversight of property acquisitions,
dispositions, asset management and property management.
Mr. DiNapoli commenced his career in real estate at
Essex Property Corporation, Palo Alto California,
an affiliate of Marcus and Millichap where he oversaw
pension fund equity financing. In 1991, he became
the Portfolio Manager responsible for acquisition
and disposition of pool assets. Mr. DiNapoli assisted
in the Essex Property Corporation’s IPO at the
time it became a real estate investment trust. In
1995 Mr. DiNapoli joined another affiliate, SummerHill
Homes where he served as the Land Acquisition Manager.
Mr. DiNapoli holds a BA in Urban and Regional Planning
with a Minor in Public Administration from the University
of Southern California and is a member of the Urban
Land Institute.

DiNapoli is the 2003 Chapter President of the San
Jose Chapter of the National Association of Industrial
and Office Properties. (NAIOP)
Mr. DiNapoli is active in his support for the Emergency
Housing Consortium and the Sacred Heart Community
Center.
JASON P. DINAPOLI
Vice President
Jason DiNapoli represents JP DiNapoli Companies Inc
in Southern California. Mr. DiNapoli has over 10 years
experience in banking and bridge financing. He was
Vice President and Team Leader in Union Bank of California’s
Power and Utilities Group where he played a key role
in the bank’s effort in the structuring and
syndication of acquisition bridge financing of power
generation assets. Mr. DiNapoli has structured and
syndicated over $800 million of short-term bridge
transactions and managed a team of lenders and a portfolio
of loan assets of over $1.25 billion. He played a
leading role in expanding Union Bank’s commitment
to the Energy industry from $700 million in assets
in 1995 to over $3.5 billion in 1999 with net profits
during that time increasing nearly ten-fold.
Prior to his involvement with the Power and Utilities
group, Mr. DiNapoli attended Union Bank’s credit
training program where he finished in the top two
of his class and was asked to be the bank’s
Senior Analyst, a coveted position reserved for the
most promising young executives at Union Bank. Prior
to the training program, DiNapoli was an analyst at
Union Bank’s San Jose Commercial Banking office
located at the heart of Silicon Valley.
Mr. DiNapoli is actively involved in community activities
and other business ventures. He is a director of a
charitable foundation and a former board member of
the March of Dimes, Southern California Chapter. He
received his BA in History from the University of
California, Berkeley
RUWAN C. PUNCHIHEWA
Director of Investments
Mr. Ruwan C. Punchihewa is responsible for a variety
of functions including portfolio strategy, real estate
investment analysis, financing, and real estate transactions.
Mr. Punchihewa began his accounting career in 1978
at Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte &
Touch) in London, England. In 1984 he relocated to
the Deloitte & Touche office in San Jose, California.
He joined the Property Management Services Division
at Essex Property Corporation in Palo Alto as Controller
in 1985, gaining extensive experience in multifamily
residential real estate management. In 1989, he joined
JP DiNapoli Companies where he is the Director of
Investments. Mr. Punchihewa holds a bachelor’s
degree in Economics from the London School of Economics,
University of London and is a Barrister at Law. He
is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
in England (English equivalent of the AICPA)
EIRE K. STEWART
Director of Finance and Property Management
Ms. Eire K. Stewart coordinates all accounting and property
management functions for the DiNapoli holdings, including
commercial real estate, agricultural operations and
investment portfolios. Beginning her twenty five year
career in finance in r97o, Ms. Stewart gained valuable
experience as Controller for several commercial real
estate companies in Silicon Valley, such as McCandless
Companies and Peery/Arrillaga. Her professional expertise
is in financial reporting, tax and cash flow projections,
banking relationships, risk/return analysis and managing
diverse investments. Ms. Stewart is active at national
and regional conferences of various professional organizations
where she teaches workshops on topics ranging from bank
services, risk management and budgeting processes to
exporting information and initiating the non-computer
user. She holds a bachelors degree in Accounting/Marketing
from the California State University at Sacramento.
Ms. Stewart is a past Chapter President of the Construction
Financial Management Association, past Chapter President
of the National Association of Women in Construction
and past National President of the Timberline Users
Group.
MAIA B. DOUTHIT
Controller – Tax Compliance and Personal Assets
Maia B Douthit is responsible for tax compliance
for approximately 100 affiliated entities. She also
manages various and numerous personal assets for the
DiNapoli family. Ms Douthit started with the DiNapoli
family in 1977 as Controller. Ms Douthit has a BA
in Accounting from San Jose State University
