J Philip DiNapoli
President and CEO
Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Phil DiNapoli continues a long standing heritage of commercial and civic involvement by the DiNapoli family in Silicon Valley. He was the founding chairman of Plaza Bank of Commerce, a successful regional bank which merged in 2001 with Comerica Bank of Detroit, one of the nation's top 20 banks. Phil served on Comerica's Board until 2006 when he left to help start and serve on the Board of Focus Business Bank, in downtown San Jose, California. He is also a board member, since 1990, of San Jose Water Company a NYSE.
Phil has been extensively involved in civic, political, and philanthropic endeavors in Silicon Valley. His personal foundation has funded many non-profit organizations, including the San Joe Museum of Art, San Jose's Tech Museum, the Santa Clara County Children's Center, and the Sacred Heart Community Center.
Phil graduated from Stanford University and obtained a JD from Santa Clara University. He is a member of the California State Bar.
John B. DiNapoli
Vice President
John DiNapoli manages the operations of JP DiNapoli Companies Inc., including oversight of property acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, development, and property management. John commenced his career in real estate at Essex Property Corporation in Palo Alto, CA, an affiliate of Marcus and Millichap, where he oversaw pension fund equity financing. In 1991, he became the Portfolio Manager responsible for acquisition and disposition of pool assets. He assisted in the Essex Property Corporation's IPO at the time it became a real estate investment trust. In 1995, John joined another affiliate, SummerHill Homes, where he served as the Land Acquisition Manager.
John is a member of the San Jose and Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). He is active in his support for the Emergency Housing Consortium and the Sacred Heart Community Center. John sits on the board of the After-School All-Stars, San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, San Jose Rotary, and Catholic Charities - Housing.
John holds a BA in Urban and Regional Planning with a Minor in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
Eire K. Stewart
Director of Property Management
Eire Stewart coordinates all accounting and property management functions for the DiNapoli holdings, including commercial real estate, agricultural operations, and investment portfolios. Beginning her twenty five year career in finance, Eire gained valuable experience as Controller for several commercial real estate companies in Silicon Valley, such as McCandless Companies and Peery/Arrillaga. Her professional expertise is in Lease negotiation, construction management, financial reporting, tax and cash flow projections, banking relationships, risk/return analysis, and managing diverse investments.
Eire is active at national and regional conferences of various professional organizations where she teaches workshops on topics ranging from property management processes, budgeting processes to exporting information and initiating the non-computer user. She holds a bachelors degree in Accounting/Marketing from the California State University at Sacramento. She is past Chapter President of the Construction Financial Management Association, past Chapter President of the National Association of Women in Construction, and past National President of the Timberline Users Group.
Edward J. Atherton
Corporate Controller
Ed Atherton joined JP DiNapoli Companies, Inc. in 2006 as the Corporate Controller, managing the accounting, financing, administration, and human resource functions of the Company and its affiliates. Mr. Atherton is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans, forecasts, budgets, and tax plans, along with day-to-day operations, treasury, cash management, analysis, reporting, and tax compliance. He was born and raised in San Jose, CA, where he began his business career in his father's tax practice in 1979. He graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Accounting, and practiced in public accounting until 1993, providing audit, consulting, and tax services. He has over sixteen years experience as Controller, Treasurer, and CFO for real estate, construction, service, retail, and high-tech companies.
